Steam Next Fest October 2026 is live from October 19 through October 26. The week-long event lets PC players try free demos of upcoming games, watch developer broadcasts, and discover indie releases before launch.
When does Steam Next Fest October 2026 end?
The event ends October 26 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific / 1:00 p.m. Eastern. Demos can disappear after the event, although some developers choose to leave theirs available.
How to find worthwhile demos
- Filter by the genres you already play. A focused list beats scrolling the entire festival.
- Check the developer’s release plan. A clear launch window and active updates are useful signs.
- Use the demo to test the core loop. Performance, controls, readability, and pacing matter more than trailer polish.
- Wishlist selectively. Wishlisting helps Steam notify you when the full game launches or goes on sale.
A new indie release to watch today
Loop Dungeon – Incremental launched alongside the festival on October 19. It is a $4.99 party-building incremental game with a 10% launch discount, bringing it to $4.49 during its opening promotion.
Is Steam Next Fest a sale?
Not primarily. Next Fest is built around playable demos and developer events, although individual games may run promotions. Visit the official Steam event page for the live catalog and regional availability.
